The two techniques for having faster workouts

Everyone on Twitter complains about not having enough time. I’m sorry, but there’s no excuse, especially when you learn about these two techniques that I’m going to share with you on how to have faster workouts WITHOUT cutting corners in the gym.

I had to mention that here before you continue reading because I knew that if I didn’t mention it, you would instantly think that you would have to cut corners. But you don’t, so listen up.

The two techniques that are very useful for you are super sets and drop sets. Both of these techniques involve doing more work in less time.

For example, lets say you typically do 3 sets of incline bench press at the end of your full body workout (if you do full body workouts properly, you will rotate the exercise order in each workout and understand why I said incline bench press at the end of your full body workout).

Normally you do three sets at a moderate weight. You train at an RPE of 8 out of 10 and each set takes 30 seconds. You have 2 reps left in the tank and you rest two minutes between each set.

This means that incline bench press would take 5 mins and 30 seconds of your workout. Now if you were to do a drop set, you could get it done in less time. You could get incline bench press done in 1 minute and 30 seconds.

How is this possible?

Drop sets are where you do multiple sets back to back with no rest in between them. The weight may have to be lowered, but you’re getting the work done in less time. Your volume stays the same, which is what matters most for increases in muscle size.

The exact same applies for super sets. You do two exercises (same body part or different body parts) back to back with no rest in between.

Both of these techniques are incredibly useful for guys who are busy. If you know you don’t have enough time to do the last exercise or two in your full body workout, then why not do a drop set or super set them?

You might not be able to lift as much weight, but you will get your total volume done and that is what matters most for getting bigger and jacked.
